Applicants who have been down the background check road before will try to trip us up with:
- Similar names (using Ricardo instead of Richard was recently seen).
- Slipping their date of birth by a digit (we use birthdates with the courts to verify identity). Cutting Edge’s advanced search techniques weed out the fraud. We meticulously review the applicant’s SSN trace for aliases (Richard and Ricardo) and date of birth fraud, as well as reviewing for any additional jurisdictions that need searching.
In addition, when reviewing court cases, we check on the outcome of lower court cases that should have been escalated to a higher court and have found simple typos that clerks have made which causes the difference between reporting a felony and missing it.
