Verification Bottlenecks:
A common question from clients:
Why is the background check taking so long? There are a myriad of answers, and here are the most common—and most are things that Cutting Edge Background has overcome.
• Bigger isn’t always better. While large background screening companies have more people, that doesn’t mean that those processors can do what it takes to complete the job. Oftentimes when there are criminal record hits, the front-line processors must send the results up the chain, and there are fewer hands to do those reviews, resulting in serious lag time.
• Even the big guys get overwhelmed with huge requests. When some criminal search companies serve large background screening business, even they get overwhelmed with an order to search 12,000 applicants in Middlesex County, Massachusetts. This means they will serve their larger customer first and get to the small orders when they can.
What makes us different?
• Cutting Edge Background processes many criminal records in-house, with our own rigorous quality assurance program. This means we have control over the reporting and turnaround time. We aren’t hamstrung waiting for the results from a large wholesaler who may choose to process other’s work over ours.
• Cutting Edge has carefully chosen and vetted its criminal wholesaler for searches we cannot do in-house (Wyoming, parts of Montana, Texas, Maine, etc.) Our wholesaler has the same customer-first vision that we do, and their turn around time and quality shows it.
• All of Cutting Edge’s processors are certified in the FCRA (either Basic or Advanced) by the PBSA. Our processors all report criminal records, and those records immediately go through a complete review by Quality Assurance. No waiting days or weeks for the review.
